Meet Zeus Holbrook, Your San Diego & Temecula wedding photographer

I’m Zeus, your San Diego Wedding Photographer

Also serving Temecula Wine Country

The best moments aren't staged — they're felt. So from getting ready to the final dance, I'm there for the real ones: the look, the laugh, the moment you'll never forget. When it's time for portraits, I'll guide you just enough to feel alive in the scene, not frozen in front of a lens.
And it's only ever me. The person you plan with is the person behind the camera — beginning to end. No associates. No hand-offs. One set of eyes, one story, your whole day.

The actual about me section

I took the long way here.

I'm a San Diego and Temecula wedding photographer, and I didn't come up through art school or an internship. I've been a musician, an EMT, and a security manager. I drove across the country for the love of my life and then moved back. I joined the navy, and was medically disquilified Somewhere in the middle of all that, I picked up a camera — and it's the only thing I've never wanted to put down.

When you book with me, you work directly with me from beginning to end. No associates. No hand-offs. Just one person who actually cares how your day turns out.

How I Got Here

Here's the honest version: I bought a camera to film myself playing bass. I figured I'd watch the footage back, fix my timing, get better. Instead I got hooked on the camera. I started pointing it at everything — friends, landscapes, the night sky — and I couldn't stop.

Around that same time, I tried to join the Navy. I made it pretty far before my eyes disqualified me. Turns out I can't spot a tiny red dot on another ship ten miles out at sea. For the Navy, that's a dealbreaker.

For your wedding, it isn't.

I can see well enough to catch the look your dad gives you before he walks you down the aisle. The half-second your partner's eyes go glassy. The light right before it disappears. I don't need 20/20 to make your photos stunning — and I don't need the Navy for that, either.

Before all of this, I spent 14 years running security and big events at one of San Diego's most iconic waterfront venues — a historic ship museum that hosts everything from corporate galas to full-scale weddings. My job was to stay calm when a few hundred people and a hundred moving parts were all depending on me to keep things running.

Turns out that's the exact skill set a wedding needs. Timelines slip. Rain rolls in. I've spent over a decade keeping my head in exactly those moments — and couples tell me that calm is the thing they remember most.

That I made a chaotic day feel handled. Musician, EMT, security manager, almost-sailor — every one of those taught me the same thing: show up, pay attention, and don't rattle when it goes sideways. The camera is just where it all finally came together.

I picked it up in 2018, started booking weddings in 2021, and haven't looked back. Today I'm a proud member of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), shooting weddings, engagements, proposals, and events across Southern California.

I'd love to hear about your wedding.

Why Couples Book Me

When I ask couples why they chose me, it usually comes down to a few things:

It's only ever me.

You hire me, you get me — first email to last frame. No associates, no hand-offs, no surprises on the day. One person who knows your story and shoots it start to finish.

I make posing feel like living.

You won't stand stiff and say cheese. I'll drop you into real moments and guide you just enough to feel alive in the scene — so it photographs like a film still, not a studio portrait.

Nothing rattles me.

Three years as an EMT and fourteen running big events taught me to stay steady when things shift — and on a wedding day, something always shifts. You'll never feel the bumps. You'll just remember an easy day.

Your day, your way.

Tell me the colors, the mood, the feeling you're after, and I'll bring it to life through my lens. The vision is yours. I just know how to catch it.

I do this every week.

You're planning the biggest day of your life for the first time. I've shot dozens, in every kind of light and every kind of curveball. Lean on that.
